Check-in
The check-in for both hotels (Flamingo and Mare Pineta) will take place at the front desk of Flamingo.
Transportation
- Pula is best reached through Cagliari (airport or, possibly, port).
- Transfer from Cagliari airport (and, if required, port) by taxi directly to the Hotel can be arranged. Estimates for the cost of such transfers are (one way and roundtrip respectively)
- 85/160 for a car (max 3 passengers)
- 120/230 for a van (max 7 passengers)
- The above prices do not include supplements, such as special seats for infants or night transfers. If you want, you can share your travel details here to find other participants to share a taxi here.
- It is also possible (and less expensive) to reach Pula by public transport (link). The line connecting Cagliari (train station/bus terminal) to Santa Margherita is #129. For the schedule see the ARST website; use the search option (in your favorite language). Please note that on Sundays the schedule is different! You need to get bus tickets at a nearby bar or kiosk (not from the bus driver). Your starting point is Autostazione ARST, your destination Santa Margherita di Pula (not Pula). The stop you should use is at km. 33,800 just in front of the church of “Santa Margherita di Boeria”. The bus driver will tell you where to descend if you mention you need the stop for Hotel Flamingo (or Mare Pineta). From the bus stop, walk towards the sea (South) on via Flumendosa for a few hundred meters.
- If you arrive by plane, there are some bus connections starting at the airport (Elmas), but the connections are a bit complicated. It is probably better to take the short train trip from the airport to the train station, and then proceed by line # 129.
Conference Fee
The conference fee will be 50 Euros (full), resp. 30 Euros (reduced), and payable in cash at registration. The full fee applies to those having a permanent full-time position; the reduced fee applies to all others (including retired persons).
Registration
The registration for the conference will take place in the conference room on Sunday, June 9, 19:00-20:00, and on Monday, June 10, 8:15-8:45 (and on Monday between talks, if necessary).
Money
Please be aware that it is advisable to bring some cash (Euros), not just for the conference fee: some cafes, restaurants, and shops may not accept cards.
Meals
If you stay at Flamingo or Mare Pineta, your breakfast will be served at the respective hotel. Lunch and dinner will be served at Flamingo. (If you do not stay at either hotel, you have the option to take lunch/dinner at Flamingo, for a price of 25 Euros per meal.)
Mini-market and bar in direct vicinity of Hotel Flamingo
This is located at the camping site, and useful e.g. for getting bottled water and snacks. The bar also serves some (simple) meals. This may be an option for those not lodging at one of the hotels, or early arrivals/late departures (hotel residents with meal plan will get their
first meal for dinner on arrival day, and their last meal for lunch on departure day).

Talk format
Introductory and survey talks (Monday and Tuesday) will take 50+10 minutes. Regular talks will have a duration of 25+5 minutes.
To be safely compatible with the limited technical facilities of the
hotel (not a conference center), you should prepare your talks in pdf slide format. Other options – including live writing on a tablet – may not work. And please be aware that blackboard talks are not an option, but a flipboard will be available.
Poster format
The poster session will take place on Tuesday 10, from 18:00 to 19:00 (longer if necessary).
The posters should be in upright format, roughly 70 by 100 cm (or 30 by 40 inches or so), for proper fixing to the wall. (We will try to cope with different boundary conditions.)
Additional material for the participants
Please be aware that there will be no printer for use by conference participants, and generally there will be very little paperwork around.
Material can be uploaded to (and retrieved from) this web page for participants. (see “additional material“)
